| The head of Somali delegation said on Sunday that if Turkey and other (Organization of Islamic Conference-OIC) countries extended financial assistance to Somalia, it would end piracy. Somali minister Mohamed Ali Ibrahim, who is currently in Istanbul for the meeting of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) of OIC, told the A.A correspondent that Turkey was a powerful country on international platform, that's why it could lead an international financial assistance to Somalia. Somalia could establish a coast guard system to fight pirates by means of assistance of countries, he said. Ibrahim said Turkish businessmen could invest in the areas of agriculture, livestock and ocean resources in Somalia. |
