| * Turkish Minister of Interior will represent Turkey in the conference organized by the UN. Increasing number of deadly road accidents, moved the United Nations to organize a road security conference. The "Global Motorway Security Ministers' Conference" will be held in the Russian capital of Moscow. Turkish Minister of Interior Bežir Atalay spoke before his flight to Moscow and said that more than 90 percent of passenger and cargo transport in Turkey is through motorways and that Turkey is a country which suffers from high mortality on road accidents. Minister Atalay also said highway safety is becoming increasingly important around the world and that this conference will aim to save many lives. |
